Continuing AGM: Sandra Kurniawati (SLU) presented Task 5.3 on modelling the economic consequences of pollinator decline for agriculture and food trade. 🐝🌍
The work explores how pollinator declines could affect agricultural production, trade, and economic welfare across countries.

📢 At @valor-project.eu's first Annual General Meeting, Tom Breeze presented the cross-project scenarios, which were further developed during last month’s workshop in Turin, where PollinERA partners also took part in the discussions.

The morning session opened with Bethan Henderson (@unepwcmc.bsky.social), who shared insights from a user needs study on pollinator tools, conducted with
@restpoll.bsky.social. She further reviewed the ENCORE tool, including potential future development. 🛠️🐝
👉73% of globally traded crops depend on pollinators.
👉36% of global food production depends on pollination.
At VALOR AGM1, @naturealexk.bsky.social presented updates to the crop pollination dependence database and plans for its upcoming publication.

Next presenting at VALOR AGM1 is Carlos Ruiz (University of La Laguna). He reviewed the vulnerability of pollination services across different European biogeographic regions. Work done i scope of Work Package 2: Synthesising knowledge on the role and status of pollination services

👉 At #VALORmeets2026, Maureen Page (University of Freiburg) presented the work on identifying key European pollinators, focusing on synthesising current knowledge on the most abundant visitors of crop and wild plants.
She shared plans for data gathering and early ideas for the analysis.
🔛 #VALORmeets2026, Agata Warchalska-Troll took the stage again to present work on quantifying links between non-monetary pollination services and people.
The aim is to identify services and disservices linked to pollinators and connect them to stakeholder groups, along with further research.
VALOR coordinator, Tom Breeze presented cross-project scenarios and their use in VALOR, providing background on the conducted workshop, the scenarios, presenting the different scenario pathways, and outlining the strategy for how these scenarios will be used to generate impact.

Margherita Genua (ELO) presented updates on VALOR focal regions and the co-development of value narratives with regional stakeholders.
The work explores how different actors understand, interact with, and value pollinators, and what information they need to support decision-making.

📢Live: Agata Warchalska-Troll presented the work on the social and cultural value of pollinators, sharing insights from recent interviews in Poland and outlining upcoming activities in the Netherlands and the Canary Islands, including interviews and workshops planned for 2026.

Marc Yeterian (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) presented Task 4.3: “Pollination-Service Production Functions", focusing on assessing the farm-level value of pollinators and integrating pollinators into agricultural production models.
VALOR AGM1 continues with Work Package 4 "Local scale economic and social dependences" presentations.
Henning Schaak (BOKU) presented Task 4.2: “Exploring the impact of pollinator shifts on the profitability of agricultural land use activities.”
