Well, I got the #VTuberTinyGameJam game up to a point where adding anything would just be taking something away
That wraps up one of the craziest months I've had, between a busy con, two game jams and a bunch of home life and medical stuff, I'm looking forward to sleep
Oh wait, it's #Marchintosh
Live now!
Amiga game mechanically is done so now we're onto the gameboy game for the #VTuberTinyGameJam and I still haven't nailed down the concept, so lots of typing out plans today, I've only got about 2.5 days to knock this out!

Schedule for the week starting the 30th!
Pride month, #VTuberSS25 and the #VTuberTinyGameJam have come to an end, it's time to take a bit of a slower week, expect chilling out all week!
Although Falcon 4.38 got announced, so any stream may be replaced with that!
With the #VTuberTinyGameJam having wrapped up today, I really hope you'll head on over to https://itch.io/jam/vtuber-tiny-jam-2025 to check out some of the amazing submissions game creators, both new and experienced, have made!
Over 35 amazing creations to be played!
A pixel art representation of a space station with glowing stars around them and the large title of Boxhound drawn above it
A Game Boy Pocket running the gamejam game referenced in the post, showing off a dialogue cutscene with a fox character in a cargo hanger
A Game Boy Pocket running the gamejam game referenced in the post, showing off a normal level of the game, with the player having just complete the first level, boxes stacked inside the scoring area
The 9th and final day of the #VtuberTinyGameJam is done! Submitted only barely before the deadline and many updates needed before the update deadline.
But dang, cutscenes, generic music and sound effects, all wrapped up on time? This was a rough one, GBZ80 was a mistake
Live now!
Final work stream for the #VTuberTinyGameJam today! Got a to-do list that's super long and we're gunna start knocking things off! Gunna be a long stream today so strap in!
Come hang out at: twitch.tv/ripper253
A Game Boy Pocket running the gamejam game referenced in the post, showing off a new set of pixel art for the game level
A Game Boy Pocket running the gamejam game referenced in the post, showing off a how to play slideshow slide
A Game Boy Pocket running the gamejam game referenced in the post, with a basic starfield and the words "press start" displayed
Day 8 of the #VTuberTinyGameJam is done! And now tomorrow is the final day, luckily we're looking good for a proper completion!
Cutscenes, main menus, new art and even multiple levels implemented in a crazy bonus stream, I'm finally on my way to bed and will finish tomorrow!
Live now!
Bonus stream time! We're gunna be doing more work on the #VTuberTinyGameJam expanding out some scenes and adding in some artwork!
Dunno how long I'll be going for as this is mostly a "anything I do today I don't have to do tomorrow" vibe
Come hang out at: twitch.tv/ripper253
A Game Boy Pocket running the gamejam game referenced in the post, showing a victory screen with the puzzle completed
A Game Boy Pocket running the gamejam game referenced in the post, showing the test title screen, saying "Cargo, main menu, press start"
Day 7 of the #VTuberTinyGameJam was a bit slow, sorry that I didn't end up streaming but I did get some important things sorted out! I got the game loading up specific scenes when needed and also got a test song playing during the game! Now we just need more art!
A screenshot of ripper's stream, showing a bug where the text "you're winner" didn't even render properly
A Gameboy Pocket showing off the latest build of the game, with a few crates stacked neatly in the corner, showing off a proper working version of the "you're winner" text
Day 6 of the #VTuberTinyGameJam has gone great!
A victory condition, new engine functions, a refactor to fix the sprite corruption bug, as well as a post on Itch.io for anyone wanting to test out the WIP builds!
About 3 days after I hope, the first proper build is done!
A picture of the game running on a Game Boy Pocket, it shows similar progress to yesterday except now some of the sprites are corrupted
Well, Day 5 of the #VTuberTinyGameJam could've gone better! Directionality has been added to collision and box picking up/dropping off, font rendering is now complete with a placeholder font
However I have started to run into sprite rendering timing issues to fix tomorrow ;.;
A screenshot of VS Code once again showing off some of the source code of the gameboy game jam game referenced in the post
A photo of a Game Boy Pocket running the day 4 build of ripper's game jam game, showing off a main character holding a box and a cursor showing where it will be placed down when dropped
Day 4 of the #VtuberTinyGameJam was a bit slower than the other 3 days, but a lot got done! MVP is basically complete with only the win condition and a few bugs to sort out!
Then we can start iterating, arting, animating and finding out what trouble we can get into!
A Game Boy Pocket showing the state of the game in the Game Jam, showing the same level as yesterday but with boxes placed around the cargo space
A screenshot of the Emulicious emulator with many debug windows, but clearly showing the gamejam game running in the middle with the boxes arranged in the shape of Loss
Day 3 of the #VTuberTinyGameJam has gone well, with a ton of progress on the MVP (although sadly behind schedule it's heckin' close)
Including everything from placing and picking up boxes to button debouncing, tomorrow should see the completion of the MVP!
Until tomorrow, good night y'all!
Schedule for the week starting the 23rd of June
All this week is going to be work on the #VTuberTinyGameJam and it's gunna be a weird one!
I've bitten off more than I can chew and so expect lots of bonus streams at weird times all week! There may be some spotty gaming though!
Live now!
Bonus Stream! Day 3 of the #VTuberTinyGameJam ! Gunna be making moves on the MVP! The task list is getting shorter so let's see if we can hit the home plate today!

A photo of a Game Boy Pocket running the day 2 build of rippers game jam game, a small fox stands in an open area, with placeholder art all the assets visible
A screenshot of Visual Studio Code showing some GBZ80 assembly code for loading tiles into the Game Boy's VRAM
#VtuberTinyGameJam Day 2 went well! Earnest work on the MVP started today with quite a lot of unexciting stuff, like setting up a proper dynamic tile loading, but I did get a basic player controller started!
Tomorrow is gunna be a heck of a lot more work to get the MVP as finished as possible!
If you wanna see other people who are super cool and amazing, make sure to check out the other participants of the #vtubertinygamejam as hosted by @mossflwer.live and friends!
People of all skill levels and backgrounds are coming together to make great stuff!
