I don't think we have met but I will certainly be at #VeniceNoir to say hello!
Ooh, two people I follow here were there tonight! @catherinefletcher.info @ilcontealmaviva.bsky.social have you met? Or might you meet at #VeniceNoir in November?
😀 if people are serious about attending, they’ll go to the litfest website anyway. And in these uncertain days…
Anyway. It feels like a nice shout out for #venicenoir
And @journeywoman.bsky.social
is a great resource for anything travel related
One for you @caroline-venezia.bsky.social 😉

Two videos showing how fabulous the #VeniceNoir festival was. I’m still buzzing from the experience, it was such fun!
I love these videos. They really reflect the atmosphere of the festival. It was such a joy to be there - I can’t wait for #VeniceNoir 2026!
Congratulations to @ianrankin1.bsky.social for the #VeniceNoir award! Beautiful work of Murano glass.
Hear from authors including @ianrankin1.bsky.social, @davidhewson.com and @tombenjamin.bsky.social about #VeniceNoir with journalist Dany Mitzman for DW Radio (46’40): www.dw.com/en/ambitious...
On Tuesday, @milesbsn.bsky.social set off home from Milan at breakfast time, changed trains in Paris (with obligatory patisserie), changed again at Euston (via the Euston tap 🍺) & arrived back in Colwyn Bay around 11pm after his weekend at #VeniceNoir. Around 1,000 miles by train in one day! 🇮🇹🇫🇷🏴🏴
Now we have to keep everything crossed that #IcelandNoir and #VeniceNoir don't clash again!
The moment of decision: the award-giving ceremony of Venice Noir at the Teatro del Ridotto, Hotel Monaco, yesterday.

Had an early start this morning. Heading home after a wonderful weekend at #VeniceNoir. Looking forward to next year already!
I'm two or three days behind (due to a packed few days with #VeniceNoir), but I just had to agree with this anyway.
Also greatly looking forward to the holiday.
Many congratulations to @ianrankin1.bsky.social for being awarded the inaugural #VeniceNoir Award, the Glass Dagger, for his amazing contribution to crime fiction - a very worthy winner.
Thank you and congratulations to all the organisers of #VeniceNoir - it’s been a wonderful weekend. Enjoyed the Grand Finale at Hotel Monaco, particularly the very impressive video of the festival.
Ian Rankin receiving the 2025 Venice Noir award, a Murano glass dagger. A festival in fab historic settings that combines autumnal Venice, books and crime (plus advice on murder methods) - plan ahead to be here for next year's edition #VeniceNoir
What's disconcerting about coming to #VeniceNoir is that I'm spending quite a lot of time looking out for 'accidental' death opportunities. A trailing rope on a Vaporetto my current focus.
A touch of "Don't Look Now" on the way back last night in torrential rain. Nothing like giving yourself a scare. #VeniceNoir
To all my friends at #VeniceNoir, please have one for me. Next year I'll be there :)
Venice Noir in the glamorous Ateneo Veneto. I switched to an early flight so I could get here in time for this interesting discussion about the many Venices in books, popular culture & the imagination #venicenoir
Enjoyed discussing Old Hamlet’s Ear with some fantastic authors - @annamazz.bsky.social @ianrankin1.bsky.social and @tombenjamin.bsky.social - it was great fun, with some excellent questions from the audience. #VeniceNoir
A table covered with crime novels
Terrific panel at the #VeniceNoir festival about how realistic murders are (and should be) in #crimefiction – featuring a legit British pathologist surrounded by lively, fiery novelists @annamazz.bsky.social @ianrankin1.bsky.social @tombenjamin.bsky.social

Like writers’ work, the work of professional translators has been pillaged by #AI companies to train #LLMmodels so it’s disheartening when a wonderful #bookfestival features an AI translator (with an awful output at that)… #VeniceNoir @annamazz.bsky.social @davidhewson.com
Breakfast with the Brazilians!!
When visiting the Hon Consul it would be rude not to surely?? #VeniceNoir
Enjoyable panel on "Don't Look Now" at #VeniceNoir, with Sir Ian Rankin, Lisa Hilton, John Bleasdale and Philip Gwynne Jones (oh, and me).
A night view of the Grand Canal, boats showing lights, the church of Salute in the distance.
A favourite view. #VeniceNoir
