Shit like this is precisely why I'm rallying with the #VermontWorkersCenter & #NonViolentMedicaidArmy this Saturday in Burlington, VT as part of our National Day of Action for Medicaid.

The US COULD (ie: SHOULD) have universal healthcare, but billionaires would rather plunder what little we have.

We're A politically independent collective advocating for the rights of the poor & working class, with a focus on Universal Healthcare in Vermont & the US as a whole. We also organize with tons of other incredible orgs under the national umbrella of the NONVIOLENT MEDICAID ARMY, including comrades at The National Union of the Homeless, Put People First Pennsylvania and Migrant Justice. We're doing our Annual Fundraiser, gathering money to keep fighting. Political Independence from wealthy donors & political parties who undermine our mission is pivotal to our success. Fun fact, in the past, big Democratic Donors nearly killed the whole org by giving huge gifts to the Worker's Center, but tying them to hyper specific political actions that kept us away from Universal Healthcare and disrupted our ability to organize the lower class. This was by design on their part, and as a rule we no longer take any money from corporate or explicitly political groups.
