Elephants like Pai Lin continue to suffer because tourists still ride elephants today, despite knowing the harm it causes.

She was not an attraction. She was a living being.

Now that we are done with 2025, here is the final graphic of all the captive elephants that passed away in 2025. We had 46 zoo/circus/tourist attraction deaths and 14 sanctuary deaths, for a total of 60 elephants. That is thankfully down from 2024.

the Zoo euthanized Cora on October 8th. Evidently, her energy had decreased, and she was not eating or drinking, and the Zoo decided to end her life.

Cora, we bid farewell to you. RIP and we will hold you close to our hearts.
