#VolcanicSystemHorror #InteractionBait - The Backrooms
๐ญ We will watch the Backrooms on our birthday if this gets... 10 likes?
We don't usually watch movies the same day it comes out, and we haven't seen horror in the theatre before, but we might do it with some encouragement. :3
#VolcanicSystemHorror - The Room (2019)
๐ญ So, I think that The Room (2019) was an objectively better created movie, but it was also an uncomfortable watch. I think once might be enough for me.
While The Room (2003) is a trainwreck, I would still definitely revisit this one with friends. x3
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Fall
๐ญ Me, with acrophobia, in the middle of voluntarily watching Fall: "I might actually be a dumbass."
CW: #VolcanicSystemHorror
Random person telling somebody else what horror movies they watched in 2025: "...there was also The Long Walk."
๐ถ Me: "Walk? WALK? Did somebody say 'walk'!???" *Runs around you, whines, and barks until you take me on a walk.*

#VolcanicSystemHorror - Insidious (Spoilers)
I can not fathom being able to astral project when asleep, and having to be careful about who I have to interact with when I'm "dreaming." You or your loved ones could end up hurt!
This made the concept of sleeping very unnerving to me!
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Insidious (Spoilers)
The freakiest part for me was the stairway to the attic in the first house we were introduced to. It looked EXACTLY like a stairway that was in a house I lived in when I was younger. The similarities didn't carry over to the attic, as movie was spookier.
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Insidious
Suck a freaky movie, but very engaging! This movie would've REALLY gotten to me if I had watched it when it came out.
The premise is very interesting, and it definitely left me wanting more movies in this series!
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Final Destination (2000) Spoilers
Do I have any new fears from this rewatch?
Yes: shrapnel from a totaled car decapitating me, since I am a frequent pedestrian, and I often see debris from accidents on the side of the street. ๐ซฃ
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Final Destination (2000) Spoilers
The premonition of this film, a plane explosion, made me afraid to fly on a plane, which was a frequent thing growing up.
I think my favorite death was Valerie Lewton's. Very elaborate & death really wanted to make sure she was dead! :o
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Final Destination (2000)
The first installment of the series responsible for a good chunk of my childhood trauma. I wanted to hate this movie for causing me so much panic throughout my life, but dammit...
It's actually a fun movie watching through the lens of being an adult
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Gravity (2013) (Spoilers)
I might be biased, but I especially liked the part where Dr. Stone goes "Awooo! Woof woof!" c:
I actually feel like this scene DOES make sense in context of the film, since people WOULD make sounds or movements if there's a language barrier.
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Gravity (2013) (Spoilers)
The movie primarily takes place after space debris destroys the character's spacecraft, and they're attempting to find another spacecraft to return to Earth. By the end, you want somebody to survive due to how much they went through!
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Gravity (2013)
Is this horror? I watched it in October and it scared me, so I'm counting it.
I take protection on Earth for granted, but a movie taking place in outer space has potential to be a terrifying setting for sure.
Though very suspenseful, I'd watch this again!
#VolcanicSystemHorror - The Bride of Frankenstein (Spoilers)
I also appreciated that the antagonists of this film seemed more realistic: having goals and being manipulative to achieve them.
The moment the monster allows Henry and Elizabeth to escape was a great direction for the film to take too
#VolcanicSystemHorror - The Bride of Frankenstein (Spoilers)
I personally would not consider "smoke good" in 2025, but this didn't stop the scenes where the blind man taught the monster how to speak from being a wonderful display of how kindness can improve the lives of those who are shunned.
#VolcanicSystemHorror - The Bride of Frankenstein
The sequel to the quoted movie.
This IS a major improvement to Frankenstein! I feel like the strengths were further expanded on, and the weakness of the first movie was fixed. This is a film I can completely adore.
#VolcanicSystemHorror - (CW: Deltarune Spoilers)
Tricky Tony strikes again! Noelle Holiday is the reason why I'm watching horror movies this month.
There has definitely been a comfort in watching horror movies with others and being able to hide behind a stuffed animal while peeking at the screen.
#VolcanicSystemHorror (CW: Death) - Frankenstein (1931) Spoilers
The scene after where Maria tries to play with the monster and show him kindness near the lake was a bittersweet moment. I felt happy that he was being treated with kindness, but for it to end with the girl drowning was devastating.
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Frankenstein (1931) Spoilers
My biggest gripe with this film was the characterization of Fritz. It seemed like he became antagonistic towards the monster out of nowhere, after he had helped Henry create the monster.
It feels like he was included ONLY to move the plot along.
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Frankenstein (1931)
One of the oldest horror films that I have seen, and I have mixed feelings. I felt there were solid scenes that held up to this very day. However, there was also a creative choice holding it back from being a film that I can completely adore.
#VolcanicSystemHorror (CW: Gore, Death) - (Not Disney's) Frozen Spoilers
If it weren't for showing the aftermath of falling, I would've loved Dan's death scene a lot more. They showed enough to let us know that Dan was being attacked by wolves, but left a good amount of the mauling to imagination.
#VolcanicSystemHorror (CW: Gore) - (Not Disney's) Frozen Spoilers
Being in a blizzard on a ski lift would suck! Every time it looked like their skin was touching cold metal, I winced very hard. They also had scenes where my fear of heights would be targeted, the consequence of falling included! ๐ซฃ
#VolcanicSystemHorror - (Not Disney's) Frozen
This movie was very traumatizing to me, and I'm glad I only watched it as an adult.
It did its job as a horror movie, I was whimpering & hiding behind my stuffed animal for much of it. I'd be very happy to never watch it again.
#VolcanicSystemHorror
I'm always taken aback when Kaiju movies show up on "horror" lists due to being in a community that finds Kaiju monsters attractive. xD
#VolcanicSystemHorror
I love that "Frozen" is a name of a horror movie, and that it's been overshadowed by a Disney movie.
It causes chaos whenever I suggest it as a horror movie to watch. >:3c
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Grave Encounters Spoilers
Being in a place with no escape & a distorted perception of time is terrifying.
Sasha waking up with a carved message in her back is the scare that got me the most.
I was not at all expecting TC to disappear in the tub of blood.
#VolcanicSystemHorror - Grave Encounters Spoilers
I disliked these characters, but I LOVED the progression of them being frauds to them discovering legit paranormal activity. I was excited when the change happened!
The scares were a combination of subtle and intense, and I appreciate that a lot.
#VolcanicSystemHorror
For me personally, I notice that some of the horror when watching horror movies comes from my own imagination about what could potentially happen to the characters. I end up being wrong a lot of the time, but it makes the experience a lot more tense. ๐ซฃ
Happy spooky month! I will not be posting screamers, but I will talk about horror movies I watch this month, which may include themes that's not normal for my account. :3c
I guess #VolcanicSystemHorror will be the tag to mute if you don't wish to hear these thoughts.
