Ritec starts the new year as we had finished the last one with more VoltShield System application on glass electrical insulators for National Grid UK. This time we are treating nearly 1,100 190Kn insulators, the majority being suspension type and the remainder tension type. The VoltShield System is a unique and specialist service provided by Ritec International and our trained applicators around the world. It is used on-site or in the factory, as in this case. Treating glass or ceramic insulators with the VoltShield System means greater performance, reduced corona activity, reduced flashover failures, less ice accretion and potentially increased service life.
