Born 26 Jan 1905, Maria von Trapp was the matriarch of the Austrian family Trapp Family Singers. While still young, she married widowed naval commander Georg von Trapp. He already had 7 children from his 1st wife, and the couple had 3 more. The family became a popular touring act. #VonTrapps
