WE ARE BACK!
After hosting a successful and innovative #WDA2024 Off Country event last year in Canberra, this year we bring to you the #WDA2025GlobalVoice from Vancouver Island to wherever your are in the world!!! Check wda2025.com/2025-global-... for more information.
#WDA2024 was a conference like no other.
It was fantastic to take part in it as well as be part of the organizing committee of the Off-Country conference!

Two mugs -one of a hedgehog the other of a ram
Every year at #WDA2024 there’s a silent + live auction that raises money for activities/student awards. It’s a wild night (and my fave). This year I made two mugs (named “the spikey one” + “mug-a-RAM-a”) that went for way more $$ than I expected. So stay tuned for #WDA2025 - we’ve got some ideas!
🧪 Kashmini Sumanasekara from the Melbourne Vet School One Health Research Group presenting on her cutting edge RNA interference research for treatment of chytrid fungus. #WDA2024
🧪Our very own Nila Taylor talking about the importance of mitigating against the vilification of suspected wildlife reservoirs through community engagement, with the example of Mycobacterium ulcerans in urban possums in Melbourne #WDA2024
Chloe Steventon from Zoos Victoria, who has "a historian's brain in a scientist's body" talking about her work on Leadbeater's possums health and how each animal has a story to tell #WDA2024
Joseph Gaydos on the importance of bringing diverse stakeholder groups together for research to be successful and translated #WDA2024
Wonderful to see so many old friends and meet new people at the WDA 2024 conference mixer tonight. Can’t wait for the first day of presentations tomorrow.
#WDA2024
The Wildlife Disease Association conference is up and underway tomorrow. Any folks attending? Thought I might do up a little starter pack for wildlife health so we can highlight the stories shared at the conference and build more of a #WDA2024 community here.
