A view of the walls of a ruined castle. A range of rectangular Tudor style windows contrast with the medieval walls.

Carew Castle is mostly medieval in construction
but in the 1550s Sir John Perrot, reconstructed the north walls to add a long range of domestic rooms. You can see the rather incongruous Tudor windows in this view from across the tidal mill pond.

A photograph of some storage buildings on the Glenfarclas property. A row of three, squat buildings constructed of dark, large, charcoal bricks and white mortar. They each have peaked, pyramid-like roofs with metal joints. There are small windows with white bars and bright red double doors, all with black trim. A couple similar structures can be seen in the distance at the left of the frame. The ground is a coarse, dark charcoal and the cloud covered sky is shades of light and pale grey.
On an overcast day, this photo would be naturally monochrome but for the #contrast of Glenfarclas' classic red doors. One of the only family run distillers left, at least of the #large ones.

A barred window on a white brick wall of a local laundry service, with the winter remnants of a small flower garden below, including a bright purple ornamental cabbage. Short brown grass is on either side of the garden.
