30 Just Stop Oil supporters turned their back on the Judge during the hearing, risking 2y for contempt of court. We expected to spend the weekend in police custody

Just Stop Oil supporters did an action at the Royal Courts of Justice this morning for the #Walney16 whose appeal resulted in a reduction of just 6 years from the original 41 years.
We turned our backs on the judges, revealing our tee shirts saying "corruption in court".

Some sentences have been reduced but they’re still in prison for peaceful protest.

At the Royal Courts of Justice today in solidarity with the #walney16 climate protectors serving long jail sentences for trying to save the planet

A photo taken outside the Royal Court of Justice in the day time. The pavement is completely occupied by a crowd of people facing towards the road. In front of the concrete anti-ramming blocks are at least 9 seated people holding up placards which are too small to read. Amongst the crowd behind them is a huge banner which is only partially visible, however it appears to say "protect the right to protest".
