New Study Challenges Existence of Water‑World Exoplanets
The ETH Zürich team modeled 248 sub‑Neptune scenarios and found surface water never exceeds 1.5% of a planet’s mass, challenging the Hycean ocean‑world idea. Read more: getnews.me/new-study-challenges-exi... #exoplanets #hycean #waterworlds

From Top: A dark grey sky with a blurry vibrant white moon to the right is dappled with brief clouds over two modern buildings like sky scrapers lit up at night. An arched bridge with shadowed train meets them in the centre of the photo and curves out towards the left, the arches growing larger and illuminated by yellow street lamps beneath. In the middle is the glossy black reflections of the Bridgewater canal in Manchester, a vibrant red barge is moored parallel to the arches. Across, on the other side of the canal a small green and blue boat are moored next to cobblestone. The cobblestones reflect the light of the houses in a twinkling blaze, the redbrick home windows neatly boxed with crosses in the middle like a child's painting. The photograph end in bottom right, with white railings and urban graffitied fences.
Slowly we make our way around the country on our little moving home. After a day of being inside Hockney's paintings and minds, I strolled past one of our brief haunts of Castle fields in Manchester. The canal seemed bright and friendly, as though it recognised old friends.

Scientists think six icy moons in our solar system may currently host oceans of liquid water beneath their outer surfaces. Arranged around Earth are images from NASA spacecraft of, clockwise from the top, Saturn's moon Enceladus, Jupiter's moons Callisto and Ganymede, Neptune's moon Triton, Saturn's moon Titan, and Jupiter's moon Europa, the target of NASA's Europa Clipper mission. The worlds here are shown to scale.

Could #Uranus and #Neptune be #waterworlds? 💧 Scientists at UC Berkeley have suggested that the interiors of the 2 giant planets might have deep global #oceans beneath their atmospheres:
