The 30 July 2024 #Wayanadlandslides in Kerala, India killed 392 people, with a further 150 people reported be missing. c.570 mm of rainfall in two days triggered channelised debris flows.

Wayanad Tragedy I 7 दिन की अग्रिम चेतावनी फिर भी 150 लोगों की जान चली गई I One hundred and fifty people have lost their lives in the massive landslide in Wayanad district in Kerala. After more than 373 mm of rains within 24 hours, the Indian Army and the NDRF teams are carrying out rescue efforts. The Indian Army was laided in parliament on Wednesday for rescuing 1000 people so far. Both the Houses of parliament discussed the Wayanad tragedy by adopting calling attention motion. Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah told both the houses of parliament that the Kerala government had been warned seven days in advance on the possibilities of heavy rains in Wayanad district, while eight teams of the NDRF had been rushed on July 23 only. Shah said that the deployment of the NDRF is on the state government.
