Just what you'd image: slow & reliable. I like small bore cars, so I enjoyed it. Tops is 105mph. Predictable handling. Nice brakes. One of the other drivers ran it into a wall and destroyed it. But the owner has since fixed it so it's still out there!

Here's another Cheetah. It belongs to a friend of mine. He's too old to get in it now and just keeps it to look at. I think the styling is the bee's knees. This is a real-deal Bill Thomas Cheetah and not a replica. I think the yellow one was a replica.

Photo of a Cheetah I took over 10 years ago at The Chatterbox Restaurant which was a cool car-cruise place near me. There was 200 cars there every summer weekend night. Super buys place. But they went bankrupt which I still can't figure out.

Homebuilt by a racing friend of mine. He has a similar looking coupe. Built the trailer too. He races a gorgeous and real Lola T70 Coupe be built from bits and pieces he collected all over the USA. A former English teacher, he learned all his mechanical skills after retiring. Super nice guy. I took this at Lime Rock.

Pocono Raceway North road race circuit (inside the NASCAR triangle track) An EMRA mixed-class enduro with my Midget about to be passed by an old NASCAR truck. I could do about 100 mph on a straight and the trucks would pass me doing about 160.

EMRA "LeMans start" grid at Pocono Raceway. These were typical club race cars about 20 years ago. Still pretty common.

Pocono Raceway is on top of a hill and fog can always be a problem there. We would race in light fog, but the track would make us stop racing if things got too murky.

Red FIAT Abarth being chased by green MG Midget (me) at Palmer Motorsports Park. The owner, Alain, is Canadian and he tells me he will not return to racing in the USA until Trump is gone

Red FIAT Abarth chasing white Alfa Spider at Palmer Motorsports Park in the rain. Me behind them in green Midget. The 3 of us had a great time that day, but the track is unforgiving. The Abarth was tapped in a turn during a subsequent race and rolled 8 times and totaled. The Canadian owner (Alain) has built a new Abarth, but he won't race it in the US until we are post-Trump. I know 5 other Canadian racers who feel the same way.

The track is a tricky, dangerous place with little run off. I doubt our club with return.

Blue Austin A35 with modified Bugatti T37 @ Lime Rock. The Bugatti has a Ford Model B engine! We were neck and neck all session.

Blue Austin A35 (1.3 liter engine) leading black 1929 Stutz Pikes Peak Special (6.4 liter engine). Cars were equal in turns but Stutz was much faster on straights.

White Ford-powered per-war Special chasing blue Austin A35 @ Lime Rock. Austin was slightly quicker.

Red FIAT 850 Spider leading blue Austin A35 and blue/orange Porsche 356 @ Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix street course. The FIAT and A35 were an even match, both pulling away from the 356.

Vintage racing creates odd combos of cars. Here's some that include my Austin A35
