The last time Michigan won the national championship until tonight.
Michigan was the best team in college basketball and Dylan (@umhoops.com) provides the best coverage of a college basketball team that you can find.
Hope everyone has an awesome night celebrating!
And for the second straight occasion, a Michigan team wins a national championship the year before the tournament for that sport expands.
Typically good stuff from Ricky but I was struck by how, beyond the money he got to go there, Lendeborg chose Michigan because he wanted to demonstrate that he'd be good in the role he'd be most likely to play in the NBA.
seeing michigan fans celebrating this championship and the relief they feel makes me realize how much a pitt natty (in any sport) would fix me
pitt volleyball if you can hear me. save me pitt volleyball.
shout out to 16 seed Howard, who scored more points on Michigan during the tournament than any other team they faced
I wrote about Michigan on Sunday and Ray Ratto is going to write about them tomorrow, but sludgy as that championship game was—they need to stop playing these in NFL stadiums, but mostly that's a credit to UConn—they were the best college team I've seen in a long while: defector.com/michigan-is-...
Michigan did warm-ups to Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield all tournament and turns out that was the secret weapon in the end

Michigan passed 'Bama, so: 37-3 against the #1 schedule in the country
Hilarious that Hurley keeps talking about how tall Michigan is, calling them the Monstars, when the player of the game is 6’1”.
The milky way over lake superior, i believe this was about 12 different frames and there's a ton of light pollution but it kind of adds to the picture. The foreground was taken the next day and darkened , the water I digitally added the reflection to.
In honor of Michigan clinching the NCAA here's my multi year goal to capture the full milky way arch over a body of water, taken last July over Lake Superior from a state park in Michigan. 🗺️
Also shout out Matt Painter, he said Michigan ain’t losing four games this year and damn if he wasn’t correct, Michigan did not lose four games this year.
i do love a close national championship game. much more fun to watch than that Arizona/Michigan game
I guess, in retrospect, “Michigan winning a national championship with a [checks notes] world-level defense” was pretty cliched, but this is some legendary stuff
Time for my favorite post big Michigan win activity:
logging in to Facebook and seeing MSU fans complaining at the top of my feed
Oh dang, that was tonight. Congrats Michigan folks.
A serious shoutout must be given to the legend, @umhoops.com. College sports is better with coverage like his, and at a time when it sounded insane he began a Michigan basketball site that still stands as the pinnacle of what a team-specific site should be.
