Great news for the #WestHamParkLTN which will now be made permanent after being sent back by the scrutiny committee. The positive effects for everyone have been obvious and we appreciate the efforts made by Councillors and officers throughout the consultation process.
“BUT I need my car because I’m going to work/shopping/bulk buying/taking people to school/hospital”—so is everyone else! We’re also great believers in bulk buying! But if you must drive, you can leave a few mins earlier. It’s not that hard.

Nice thread here on the situation with the #WestHamParkLTN, which in another survey had satisfied 59% of residents and has had positive outcomes for congestion, safety, and air quality—but is still being sent back for reconsideration.
We naturally hope the decision makers won’t change their mind.

What a great day to show how #WestHamParkLTN is making a difference already, even after a few bouts of vandalism. We think most people, even those not keen on it now, will see the benefits of not having to share their street with people from outside Newham using it as a shortcut.

Our vision is that everyone who wants to cycle in Newham should feel safe on every street, from busy main roads to residential backstreets. Keeping drivers on the main road if they're just passing through gives local streets back to people who live there, and to visitors to the area. #WestHamParkLTN
