In #WhatWeCanKnow, the futuristic book by @IanMcEwan he writes of "a crisis in realism in fiction between 2015 + 2030..when...new forms were needed to frame the physical + moral consequences of a global catastrophe". I think he's on to something. #Fantasy #writingcommunity #books

She had read too much. Everything was like something else.
So writes #IanMcEwan I’ve read all his novels. The latest #WhatWeCanKnow is like nothing else I’ve read. Love, writing (poetry, biography, journals) sex, academia, the future, climate tragedy. Fascinating. #amreading
Je me suis régalée. Disparu.

Happy Release Day -- What We Can Know by Ian McEwan! A literary, dual timeline novel set in 2014 and climate ravaged 2119. Beautifully written, and a fascinating look at truth, history, and stories. Recommend! #whatwecanknow #netgalley #booksky 📚💙
#WhatWeCanKnow is a genre-blurring novel from #IanMcEwan. Part literary detective story, part philosophical exploration, it is full of secrets, twists, and unexpected revelations. Kirkus calls it “a philosophically charged tour de force by one of the best living novelists in English.” (4/5)
I conceded that I complained too often about our fallen world. It had always been falling and we had to make a life.

I still hesitate and steel myself when approaching a new McEwan - I'm still scarred in my heart and soul over what he did to me with Atonement (IYKYK...), and there's hints extant this takes a twist in its second half.
You better be careful with me, Ian.
