Q: Can the Republicans pass the SAVE Act by using reconciliation to get around the filibuster in the Senate?
A: It feels unlikely, and also it's a sign of how anti-democratic their coalition is that they're pushing it like they are.

We haven't tried that yet at the national scale, and I do not want the first dry run of a national economic muscle flexing event to be in the week that Trump tries to steal the midterms. The point of #MayDay is a structure test.

Thousands of clergy, faith leaders, teachers, nurses, neighborly neighbors came together and said, we're not gonna shop, we're not gonna work, we're not gonna go to school, we're gonna stand up against this regime. That's what we're going to need in November at a national scale

What we're going to need in November or later, when they try to steal the election (which Trump has said they will), isn't just a #NoKings type protest. We'll need more like what the Twin Cities showed us.

When that happens, we'll need a MUCH bigger response that anything we've seen before. That's what #MayDay is about.

But also the risk of federal forces moving into swing district or state w/minority population where deployment of ICE & CBP will suppress the vote

There's a lot of work that's happening within the election protection space, the legal work, voter protection stuff.

E: But also-- these jungle primaries are a way of protecting incumbents in trifecta states. What California (and Illinois) *needs* is ranked-choice.

We did a poll of the general voting population! not of Dems, but everybody. We asked about #NoKings.
7% said they attended... This is not true! it would have been 18M people! but it shows that a lot of people *wish* they were, & think we're on the winning side.
