Thom was criminally underused in the books and this is a way to give him more to do. Asmodean being freed earlier than others could make sense. He would never awaken others and would do his own thing. He could have been awake for decades.

I'm excited to see the Thomodean theory gain hold. I would love to see a good redemption arc. I guess Liandrin has that potential too but I like the idea that even a Chosen could be redeemed to the Light.

I think I finally had a good theory for what the show will do for Gawyn's arc (and set up Gawyn/Egwene)
He's replacing Bryne
It makes Gawyn less fail-son (sad but necessary); gives the couple plenty of time together at right point/setup for audience approval #WoTskies #WheelofTimeBookSpoilers

I'm trying to stay very much in EoTW because I've realized with this re-read how much I've forgotten over the years and that's what I just finished, but I remember adoring Perrin and Faile's marriage and the events surrounding it! And the Aiel have interesting dynamics.

Yep, Elayne and Gawyn keeps their mothers name, but that is more of the "royal line" name.
The only info on names is Perrins POV on if Faile would use his name, then he decides she would because that is the way in the Two River, implying it might be different elsewhere.

in ep 8, when Elayne heals Rand and he asks "who are you" my brain immediately went "your future wife" when I first watched that scene. don't ask me. I have not read the books (yet)
