A hand painted mural on (I think) board mounted on a brick wall. It depicts people on a beach holiday in the Victorian period, with children playing with buckets and spates, donkey rides and boats in the background. The colours are faded pastel shades, as the mural was more than 30 years old when photographed, and the site had been closed for 12 years.
The 'Wigan Pier' logo, consisting of those words in a stylised Victorian font, set in a circle.
A mural in the former 'The Way We Were' museum at #WiganPier, snapped on a study tour in 2019. The museum opened in '86 &I visited on a school trip the year after. I recall well the terrifying Victorian school experience. π
Closed in '07, sadly. Redevelopment ongoing.
