It’s exactly this kind of wilful ignorance, that often hides behind claims of ‘common sense’, pple somehow believing they know enough & better than climate scientists to oppose the science & block progressive measures.
Like Drs did who opposed the germ theory of sepsis in the 1860s
#WilfulIgnorance is the cultural norm. I really don't blame them. And at some point, they will wake up.
The genocide in Gaza & the Iraq invasion were two major canaries in the coal mine.
But not enough folk cared about a very biased media.
Now that "boomerang" has come home.
If there's a silver lining, perhaps centrists and progressives (without any exceptions) will ally now?

Many of my (US) ESG colleagues were v disinterested & unwilling to engage.
#WilfulIgnorance was/is endemic amongst folk who have v good info sources.
My conclusion? They & their immediate loved ones were fairly safe - working from home, getting deliveries, choosing to get vaccinated etc.
I suspect you are right. Same with Johnson in the U.K. btw
And legacy media has learnt to ignore / marginalise those who've been disabled during the current pandemic. #LongCovid

He was well ahead of his time.
