Another reason not to be cursed for your sin and turned partly into an animal, children! #WildChildren
“The dancing doll bleeds among her clockwork, Baron. Do not lose what you didn’t ask for.” #WildChildren
Greyscale drawing of Scratch, a Wolf Boy, with his hair slicked back and a suit and tie, flicking a coin.
Scratch tried fancying himself up! Turns out he cleans up a lot better than you might expect from a thicket-headed Wild Boy who spends all his time naked and rolls around in dead things.

Scratch and Trill, Wolf Children, greeting a friend named Hooch. Scratch says "Hey cutie <3" and Trill says "Hi Hooch!"
Scratch and Trill pay a visit to their favorite Donkey Girl when her owner isn't around
These little sketchy scribbles of Wild Children are really fun, I can do one so fast
I need to do an AMA with Scratch again and add Trill to the mix, that was fun

Cackle the Jackal Girl! Wild Children come in many flavors.

Scratch to the rescue!!
*Sigh* My *hero...
*NOTE: Trill has already freed herself and is fighting skeletons upstairs

“Hey kid. You left your window open. So d’you like being cooped up in here like this, or do you wanna come have some REAL fun?”
Scratch and Trill, professional Wolf Children.

I don’t normally post old art, but I’ve always liked this one. It’s a great encapsulation of Trill’s attitude as a Wild Girl.

Hooch and Scratch cut a rug! By the 1920's they're many decades old - could be a century, it's hard to say with Wild Children! Hooch tries the flapper look, Scratch dresses like the dirt-poor farm boy he was as a human kid in the pre-industrial era.
Hooch is @danacorn.bsky.social

"If God doesn't want me, then I guess I'll just go to Hell."

Still more Wild Children! Scratch fancies himself quite the Casanova, and is of the impression that girls can't resist his charms. Infuriatingly, he is frequently right.
#WildChildren is a lovely book by @inscrutablemachine.bsky.social which you can read!
I wish to confirm that Dana was the direct, specific, and overt inspiration for my book #WildChildren. That she still uses it to express herself 15 years later is an honor.
Four animal-person kids, two donkeys and two wolves, pouring drinks and looking like they’re generally having fun hanging out
Work in progress: wild child party! L to R, Shiftless, Hooch, Trill, and Scratch.
All characters created by @animatronikki.bsky.social, except Hooch who is mine. Also, #WildChildren is a neat book by @inscrutablemachine.bsky.social, for which I may have provided the inspiration.
More Wild Children! This is Scratch. He's a Wolf Boy. He's got a real big head, so it's important to laugh at him once in a while just so he doesn't act like he's king of the world all the time. It's fun and easy! Just look at Trill go!

Two anthropomorphic donkey girls, having drinks
Donkey girls! Shiftless belongs to @animatronikki.bsky.social, Hooch belongs to me. #WildChildren
From this experience I learned that #wildchildren and dogs pose existential threats.
Shiftless the Donkey Girl living up to her name. She’s actually a pretty hard worker when she needs to be! But nobody ever looks back in the servants’ quarters.

Twilight. Six wild children gather with long dandelion stems. "Happy walpurgis week! Longest dandelion stem gets to request a specific alcohol be served... shortest longest stem has to steal it." The blow dried leader wolf is drunk and bubbling. A donkey boy in a tee and matted hair clutches a long bundle. Flute the owl girl is yawning and sickly from the awkward diurnality of the moment. Her dandelions are wilting. Another donkey boy gingerly balances the stems between hoof fingers. A wolf girl with box braids smirks at the dandelions behind her back, which she dug up the roots for. And a white donkey girl with braids and a collar and vest has just eaten the wolf girl's dandelions. Cheat, cheat, win.
Walpurgis continues! Wild Children may be drunken hooligans but they still settle it like kids.
This was originally a YCH before I overslept. Only one with a name is Flute, the sickly up-too-late owl girl.
Setting of #wildchildren from the book of the same name by @inscrutablemachine.bsky.social
A young 1800s girl in a bonnet, apron and liberty fabric dress grins cockily before a grove of trees and oak galls that mimic a giant owl grabbing her. Foreshadowing; after this night's display of hubris, she will be put in the owl's ear and known to all as an owl child, with her family and her name and her species and her voice stolen from her, and naught but books and the cold moon for comfort.
Happy Walpurgis night, everyone! Remember to lock your doors and not let your children outside, lest they be corrupted into the ageless beasts of sin. But if thou wilst go out, surely thy hubris shall protect thee...

#WildChildren - @aleskot.bsky.social is a remarkable writer who should be getting way more attention. They first came to my attention through this book, illustrated by #RileyRossmo. Think #Invisibles meets #KillMyBoyfriend, perfectly updated for the 21st century.
