On #1: Our energy future, as @mzjacobson.bsky.social says, is #WindWaterSolar. Also geothermal, at least where you can use the heat directly (I’m skeptical about widepread use for generation). Storage matters, and not just batteries (load shifting is critical). Everything else is just nosie.

Uranium mining, milling, & enrichment, thermal pollution, killing aquatic life, emergency diesel generators, nuclear waste storage, repositories, meltdowns, exclusion zones,... and efficiency should all matter.

Bingo, that's the entire point. Food, water, the stuff we need to live, becomes dangerous if ingested. In this case, for 15 million years, and iodine 129 causes thyroid cancer and accumulates, bioaccumulates in the food chain. #WindWaterSolar will thrive even more when nuclear gets out of the way.
