Happy #WindmillDay to one our favourite 'long walk in the fresh air' destinations, the #Bodicote Windmill. One of the loveliest walks in the area. And when you consider the abundance of lovely walks we have on the doorstep, that's saying something.

Walthamstow windmill was a post mill built by John Hawkes of Whitechapel, c.1676. Located on Tile Kiln Hill, it operated until 1800 when it was blown down. The site is now occupied by Oak Hill Gardens, Woodford Green. 📷 Late 18th century print; section from Chapman & Andre map 1777. #WindmillDay
