Heatwave subsides, but hot weather to persist until evening rainfall WEB DESK: On Sunday, the weather is expected to be hot and dry in most parts of the country, while it will be very hot in the plains, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said. However, the intense heat has subsided for now, with the weather conditions likely to move towards light rain and clouds today. The North-East and South Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/South-East Sindh, North-East Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will get partly cloudy weather later in the day today. There is also a possibility of wind and thundershowers at a few places. During this time, hail may occur at some places as well, PMD said. Going region by region, the met department said that it is likely to be hot and partly cloudy in Islamabad and its surroundings during the day. However, it is expected to rain at a few places with strong winds and thundershowers during the evening and night hours. It is likely to be hot and partly cloudy in most districts of Punjab as well. However, rain with gusty winds and thundershowers are expected at a few places in Murree, Gulyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Layyah, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas. Hailstorm may also occur at some places during this time. Likewise, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also get partly cloudy weather in most upper districts. Areas around Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Karak and Waziristan will also get rain with gusty winds and thundershowers today. In most districts of Sindh, the weather is likely to be extremely hot and humid. However, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Mithi, Mirpurkhas, Umarkot and surrounding areas are expected to remain partly cloudy with gusty winds and rain at a few places. Weather is likely to remain hot and dry in most districts of Balochistan too. However, rain with gusty winds and rain at a few places is likely to occur in Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Mastung, Kalat, Dera Bugti, Sibi, Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Loralai and surrounding areas.
