Mending soon-to-be holes around the corners of my jeans pockets. Patched behind, secured with decorative stitching, then mostly covered back up with said pockets when sewing everything back together 🙃
Subtle visible mending for #WinterOfCareAndRepair and #MendMarchTogether
One of my (many) damaged 2nd hand jumpers finally mended and worn to work. The stitch attaching the collar was coming undone all over the place.
Reattached, picking up all the loops and doing a second stitch to be sure. Not the neatest, but done is better than perfect.

My cat knocked this lovely cup from Comins Tea off the counter the other day. Nearly fully repaired with sugru. One bit hasn’t stuck, I’ll use some white for a second go once I’ve prepped a batch of things to mend. #WinterOfCareAndRepair
Looking after my boots - dubbing after some awful leather. As much as I’m liking my solovairs I wish I’d gone with different leather - this one marks so easily compared to my black ones. #WinterOfCareAndRepair
Still covering logos. Learning to just go with the first thing that pops into my head 👁️. Finished last week but never shared properly #WinterOfCareAndRepair
I’ve only made a start on the repairs of this thrifted White Stuff cardi. What I’m doing isn’t exactly like the rest, but you don’t notice the difference unless you stretch it and look real close.
Fiddly work but it’ll be nice when it’s done. A lovely little project for #WinterOfCareAndRepair
A blue background with pale circles of different sizes imitating snow. Written in white text is the following “My Winter of Care & Repair intention: Between Winter Solstice 2025 and Spring Equinox 2026, I want to rest and recharge. I aim to do at least one of these every day: mend, tend, repair, care for, or otherwise maintain something I own; declutter, deep clean, or otherwise sort out an area of my home/garden; work on a creative project for myself; and/or get outside for a walk or do some yoga/stretching. But as my main goal is rest, I will be understanding with myself and take days off as I need to.”
I’ve been doing my #WinterOfCareAndRepair updates on Instagram so far but want to start adding them here too. These are my very light touch intentions for this season.
Flat lay of fabric and notions for a convertible tote/backpack. The pattern booklet, by Sew Over It is visible in a corner. Main fabric is a camel color cotton/PU, leftover from my trenchcoat. Lining fabric is a remnant of Liberty tana lawn in blue and beige. Haberdashery is a bronze color, straps are navy.
I haven't been working on new sewing projects lately, too busy mending and altering and unf*ing my home for #winterofcareandrepair. But! It's spring now and a #totepack is incoming!
A pair of overear black headphones with white crocheted ear pads.
Continuing my informal #winterofcareandrepair ! The foam wore out on my work headphones so I crocheted replacements out of cotton 🧶. Not a crocheter but chained a ring, worked 15 (US) dc into ring, worked 2 more rounds of dc.
