I finished book 8! In 19 days: not so bad.
I generally liked this book! But the pace is really what bothered me in this one.

(This isn't the final form of my book btw... I'm actually out of pink tabs for info related to the One Power but I used them all on book 7 🥲🥲)

Most of the things I was curious about when I started book 7 were not shown, so my expectations for this one are mainly the same, BUT:

- can't wait to see what Nynaeve will do now that her block is lifted. I want to see her full strength!

There's definitely a huge difference between pre and post breaking civilizations, and I'm dying to know more about the world before everything went down. I'm often thinking about the Rhuidean flashbacks 🥹🥹

There's something interesting about this though, I did notice that few to none of the pre-breaking characters (The Forsaken & Birgitte) have this behaviour.

This doesn't stop me from enjoying the books overall, but so far it's hard to fully appreciate some characters, like Nynaeve for example. She has great motivations but the way she treats the men around her...... 😬😬

But the biggest flaw for me is definitely the battle of the sexes. This whole matter has already been greatly discussed by many readers already, but my main hope is that when Sanderson picks up the series, this aspect gets toned down. 🥲

As a lore fan, starting WoT feels like the best choice I ever made. The world is so rich and so detailed, with its cultures, politics, magic system, and history.. The WoT universe really feels complete!

As soon as I finished WoT book 1, I opened Google Sheet and decided to keep track of as much data as I could !
Knowing the lore is heavy + the series goes on 14 books definitely encouraged me to do what I can to remember everything.
