Breakfast: Yogurt with banana, walnuts, and maple syrup, no wine, just coffee.
Lunch: Chicken from the wok with lots of vegetables, sweet-sour-spicy. Frappato pairs well with this dish.
2018 Frappato Terre Siciliane IGT, Baglio Di Pianetto, 13%. For Frappato this wine is old, five and half a year. Normally you drink Frappato young to enjoy its very expressive scent. After all these years the fruity aroma is still dominant but finer and more complex. Goes well with the spicy chicken from the wok.
Dinner (Abendbrot): Mixed whole grain bread (Vollkornbrot) from Palatinate (Germany), farmer's pie (pâté paysan) from Alsace (France), and gherkins (Cornichons) from Spreewald (Germany). The Frappato from Sicily (Italy) is not perfect but also goes surprisingly well with the pâté.
