A wooden artists’ mannequin leans against a white painted brick wall. He wears dark navy slacks and a tan jumper with a large shawl collar. There is a short opening (like a polo shirt) with 2 large buttons (small buttons really - but the mannequin is only small … ). He also has a beanie hat on to keep his wooden head warm - the hat is in blue and ochre variegated yarn. My own patterns …

A 12” wooden mannequin is standing in profile - there is a wooden fence and a brick wall behind him, also some branches with only a few leaves. The mannequin is seen to hip height & has his hand on his hip. He is wearing a bright chartreuse jumper - Aran style with cables - big & small ones on the front - a small cable runs down the sleeve. Jumper has a cozy rolling collar. He has a matching beanie hat with a turn up brim & cables & and very large pompom. He is also wearing dark navy pants but we don’t see much of them. All his clothes are hand knitted - my own patterns. The chartreuse yarn was 4ply (sock wt) Morris&Sons ‘Empire’ - merino wool.

This photo is to show you some of the clothes I made the 12” wooden mannequins. I tried to make them things that people like to knit (socks, shawls, jumpers / sweaters) - sometimes I’d made a mini version of a pattern that was currently popular … Here a wooden mannequin is sitting on a miniature green chair - in front of a pressed copper fire screen, on a dark wooden floor… he looks like he is putting on his socks, which are a bright chartreuse colour. He is wearing knee-length ‘shorts’ in a camo ‘print’ (variegated yarn) and a striped ‘hoodie’ jacket. The hood is down - the stripes are thin and lt grey / bright blue. The jacket has a yellow zipper and is fine up to half-way on the mannequin’s chest (he does not have a hairy chest!) All the mannequin’s clothes are hand knitted - the socks are in lace weight wool and have ‘heel flap’ heels.
