Inspired by The Traitors, #wordsforwellbeing today focussed on unreliable narrators. I kicked things off by reading a bit of a golden oldie, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. A joy to introduce this classic book to a new generation of readers!
For our final #wordsforwellbeing before the tatty holidays we read the prologue of this then watched a bit of The Traitors…because if you had songlight, if you could mind read, you’d absolutely win that show! #readingschool
Too impatient to wait for our copy to arrive I borrowed this from @falkirklibraries.bsky.social and intend to read a bit from chapter 9 to #wordsforwellbeing book group today. Hot chocolate and #storydeck cards also on the agenda! #readingschool
Continuing the picture and teenage book pairings by reading these by @tompercival.bsky.social to #wordsforwellbeing #bookgroup where they sparked a chat about random acts of kindness #readingschool #bepartofit #empathy
I’m always a fan of pairing up a YA or teenage book with a picture book so that’s exactly what we did during today’s #WordsForWellbeing #BookGroup and that inspired a chat about body image, how we see ourselves and how other see us. #ReadingSchool #Empathy
At #WordsforWellbeing on Friday I read an extract of this that talked about intuitive eating and listening to your body and we then had a good old chat about what food we all love to eat.
Also happy to report that hot chocolate is back and now very much a huge part of book group!
I plan to read a bit of The Kill Factor to #wordsforwellbeing book group today. They LOVE the Hunger Games so this is right up their street!
My Hunger Games appreciation continues! #wordsforwellbeing book group is doing a deep dive into the whole Hunger Games world…Today we had #empathy rich conversations about Catching Fire!
For our last #wordsforwellbeing book group before the holidays a sci fi thriller about a clone seemed like the appropriate choice. General agreement among book group that they’d appreciate a clone that could sit their exams for them! #readingschool
I read a chapter of this to #WordsForWellbeing #bookgroup today. We agreed that being forced to tell the truth all the time could be really quite awful! #empathy
At #wordsforwellbeing book group today we talked about this and situations where you feel you’ve backed yourself into a corner! #empathy
Poetry can ground us, guide us, and remind us of our own power. May June Jordan’s words be fuel for courage, justice, and joy.

These two books share an identical theme of how it feels to be defined by a diasability so we had a picture book YA mash up at #wordsforwellbeing #bookgroup and had a good chat about them both! #empathy. Both titles suggested by @empathylabuk.bsky.social 🙌
We talked about this at #wordsforwellbeing #bookgroup today. Engaging chat about eating out in restaurants and why other customers can sometimes be so judgemental and show a lack of #empathy for others nearby.
So,I inhaled this book in one sitting and I just read ch 7 to #wordsforwellbeing book group. The group really connected with the book and agree with Lacey that the black notes on a piano sound the best. Plans for a library piano were also discussed…
