Agree completely on the large-scale influences on wind direction (air mass frequencies follow on from those). I saw your hashtag #worstsummerever in relation Skye's rainfall - subjectively, I assume you rate it very poor in general for Hebrides as a whole (I'd forgotten about your dull June).
