Plus, in real terms, oil has never been cheaper. The oil/gold price ratio is basically at an all time low right now and that tells me that either gold has to fall or oil has to rise - and I don't think gold is going to fall.

Oil & gas stocks are generally NOT good long-term investments. Just look at #XOP. It is trading exactly where it was back in 2006. It has more-or-less gone sideways for 20 years.
