Observation from the Calgary budget survey. Seems weird to lump roads with pathways. Could they really not afford one more category in the survey?
I want more pathways and protected lanes for biking. I don't really want any more roads or projects that are meant to "improve car traffic"

For any cyclists trying to hit Cold Garden and coming from the N, avoid 12 St SE like the plague. Zero accommodations for 2-wheelers while they dig up the road.
Instead, do this detour via 8 Ave>11 St>11 Ave SE. Back to normal on 12 St SE from the railway bridge south #yycbike

This morning, two trucks were blocking the bike lane on 12 Av in Sunalta. No warning signage or any alternative options for people wheeling or biking.
The construction workers weren’t happy that I was taking photos.

Image is a map of the SE portion of Glenmore Reservoir in Calgary showing potential pathway closure. An info window indicates there is a closure from April 13 to July 9 while they do erosion mitigation work along the shore of the reservoir
Heads up #yycbike - construction fencing was dropped off in the are just west of Glenmore Landing and south of the reservoir. Not sure when / how it will impact the pathway. Keep the new 90th Ave bike path in mind if there are closures.

Stephen Ave used to be my route into the core, but started avoiding it after the debacle that is the Arts Commons/Glenbow/Stephen Ave utility work.
Still an unsafe debacle… effectively walking/cycling through an active work site. Avoid. #yycbike
