A child prepped for a metal music festival, back in the early aughts: mandatory Metallica shirt (mine from the 80s!), black Tripp shorts, long blonde hair, much black eyeliner, a touch of hot pink eyeshadow, and So Much Attitude.
The #Yizkor part of the service hit me way harder than I expected it to today. Bless the folks who keep tissues in their bag. I needed many of them. I couldn't even read the daughter-specific prayer; still can't. Maybe tomorrow.

I've already made the slide for this year's #Yizkor services bemoaning this year's mass shootings. And now I will be updating it. Amanda Gorman's poem still rings true. I wish it didn't.

The last thing I should mention in this thread is, I got to edit a volume of prayer and poetry resources for #shiva, #yahrzeit, and #yizkor. It came out right before my mom died. It may be the editing project of which I am most proud.
