この戦争絵画に基づく司令ゴンドラの描写と台詞が見られるというこだわり具合は、片貝さんの趣味だろうか？
大変なこだわりが見られるだけに、残念な「ミス」だと言える。
尚、パリも陸軍の飛行船により爆撃されているが、わずか3回で象徴的な事象にはならないと思われたのか、劇中では扱われていない。
恐らく美しいパリという心象風景を描き、市内に戦争を持ち込ませないための演出だと考えられる。
というのも、戦時中、エッフェル塔には信号情報の拠点となり、通信線がぶら下がっていたが、それは描写されていないからだ。これもまた、作劇都合上の「ミス」なのだろう。

P級のLZ 38(陸軍)
「パリに咲くエトワール」の背景にある戦争は、後方に戦火をもたらした存在として、飛行船のブリテン島爆撃により象徴的に表現されている。
わずか数カットだが時期的結節を示すためか、ブリテン島への初空襲(1915.1.19)とロンドン初空襲(1915.5.15)の両方を扱うなど、これまでの日本アニメで一番詳しくWW1の飛行船を扱っていると言っても過言ではない。
ただし、作画省略の為なのか、P級のL 3（実際はM級）がブリテン島初空襲とロンドン初空襲（ロンドンを初めて空襲したのは陸軍のP級 LZ 38）を行うという「ミス」が見られるのは残念な事である。
