ChatDSP de Dillon Bastan permite crear instrumentos y efectos de audio con descripciones en texto El desarrollador Dillon Bastan ha presentado ChatDSP, un nuevo plugin para Max for Live que utiliza inteligencia artificial para generar instrumentos, efectos de audio y efectos MIDI a partir de descripciones en lenguaje natural. Esta herramienta, integrada directamente en Ableton Live, permite al usuario escribir lo que desea —como un sintetizador FM con dos operadores o un arpegiador aleatorio— y obtener al instante un dispositivo funcional. Además, ChatDSP admite editar o deshacer cambios sobre los dispositivos ya creados, y ofrece tres tipos base de dispositivos: instrumento, efecto de audio y efecto MIDI. Cada creación puede incorporar hasta 48 parámetros automatizables y guardarse como preset reutilizable. El sistema requiere una cuenta de Anthropic o OpenAI y el uso de créditos por cada prompt, aunque el coste es bajo y Bastan no obtiene ingresos adicionales. El dispositivo incluye soporte para diversas funciones típicas de instrumentos y efectos, así como la opción de exportar el código generado para emplearlo en proyectos de Max/MSP o hardware DIY. ChatDSP permite seleccionar entre diferentes modelos de IA, como Claude y GPT, para adaptar la complejidad de los resultados, y dispone de herramientas para aleatorizar parámetros o restablecer el dispositivo.
