We installed our permanent #magnet samples on tripods in the CEBAF #accelerator enclosure. These, along with those in my previous post, will be used to study how the magnets degrade in a #radiation environment.

Spent most of the day with a crew of new #accelerator operators, assembling and organizing our permanent #magnet pair assemblies. These will be measured, and then installed in the CEBAF enclosure to see if/how they degrade from #radiation exposure.

Yes, a lot of infrastructure has to be rebuilt.
My community of #acceleratorPhysics got destroyed on Twitter, so it made it easier to move.
We need to pay attention to this infrastructure to make sure we don't have to lose it all if Bluesky gets similarly bought out or corrupted.
