Very happy to see the attention given to this work 👇⚒️🧪 that was also presented to #AGU24. Access to the Nuvvuagittuq Greenstone Belt is now restricted due to thoughtless damage (not by these scientists) described below www.science.org/content/arti...
🎆Congratulations to the AGU24 #OSPA winners!👏 OSPA highlights undergraduate, Master's and PhD students for their ability to effectively communicate their high-quality research in the Earth and space sciences.

Congratulations to Seismo Lab students Jiaqi Fang and Yuri Tamama!
They’ve been recognized with Outstanding Student Presentation Awards for presenting their research in Earth & Space Science at #AGU24! Well deserved for their hard work in Planetary Sciences and Tectonophysics. buff.ly/w4K9JMX
Researchers at Hubbard Brook are using the artificially created Nitrogen isotope "15N" to better understand how trees are using N on a day-to-day basis throughout the year.
@cornelluniversity.bsky.social -based Catalina Mejia spoke about the work during @agu.org #AGU24. More here: bit.ly/AGU24_B33C
What's more appropriate for #MarchMadness than this latest StoryCorps #TalesFromTheDeep episode. Taken a listen to how two scientists from two different nations together at sea on JOIDES Resolution discovered their shared passion for #basketball (then caught a game together at #AGU24!) 🌊🏀
I am honored to announce that I received the #OSPA award at #AGU24 for my presentation "Understanding inhibition of daytime ecosystem respiration: Effect of carbon availability on the Kok effect" lnkd.in/gUDpkuU7
This #BlackHistoryMonth we reflect on the powerful words of Sharon Lavigne, founder of RISE St. James & 2024 TIME100 Most Influential honoree, from her inspiring #AGU24 Presidential Forum Lecture.

Small group photo of students standing behind the white AGU sign and in front of the blue and white AGU photo backdrop.
Hard to believe it's already been two months since #AGU24. We had an incredible time at our alumni reception with 42 current and past EMES members in attendance!
Thank you to our administrative staff for all your hard work in organizing this great reunion!
1000 piece puzzle of the earth on a table
We have been working on this puzzle I got at #AGU24 for 2 weeks. It was lots of fun and we finished!! Good de-stresser. Now what do we do with it?

I heard about this at #AGU24 and I'm glad to see this story published. It's a sad case of bad sampling practice resulting in a crucial field site being removed from access for science. ⚒️🧪

I had a great experience at #AGU24 back in December, but in hindsight there is one very negative thing I can’t stop thinking about: they had an “Impact of the 2024 Elections on Science” seminar where AGU employees essentially sat back and told us all it’s going to be okay. Is it? Is it fucking okay?

Hey #AGU24 attendees, check out how civilized this poster session is.
A 1975 paper in Science by late pioneering Lamont geochemist Wallace Broecker is generally credited as providing the first use of the phrase “global warming” in scientific literature. At this time, the planet was emerging from a decades-long natural cooling cycle which, according to Broecker, had been masking the ongoing warming caused by rising industrial carbon dioxide emissions. Broecker correctly predicted that as the cooling cycle ended, global temperatures would rise swiftly. Broecker (center) aboard the research vessel Melville, Pacific Ocean, around 1973. The barrel was used to bring up seawater for analysis of carbon isotopes. Credit: Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory
