Great to get a chance to see and catch up with @filmquarterly.bsky.social's editor J. M. Tyree in Chicago at the @historians.org conference. #AHA26 #AHA2026
#AHA26 highlights. It was great spending a few days in Chicago, reconnecting with friends and colleagues from all over. Got some feedback on a chapter for an edited volume, participated in an op-ed workshop, and explored the city. Can’t wait to be back—such an underrated city.

Book cover of Histories of Drug Trafficking in Twentieth Century Mexico
Finished reading book 2 of 2026 on the plane home from #AHA26 yesterday. Great collection of cutting-edge research on drugs in Mexico by top historians that will be super helpful as I begin my new book project!

The wonderful #AHA26 program could not have come together without the dedication of our 2026 Annual Meeting Program Committee and co-chairs Geraldo L. Cadava and Katharina Matro, and the excellent Local Arrangements Committee headed by Mimi Cowan and Amy G. Powers.

AHA panel
Colleagues
Another incredible AHA Conference is in the books! So many incredible panels. The best part was meeting up with a former student. There is a special joy in seeing your students accomplish great things. Students are why I do what I do. #aha26
Meeting former authors is one of the two best things (the other being meeting future authors^^) about #AHA26 and conferences in general! ☺️
Thank you, Prof. Esther Hu, for being one of the nicest and most brlliant people out there!
What a fantastic cap on an intense couple of days at #AHA26 #AHA2026
Excellent *conversation* re the importance of studying the histories of fashion, food, leisure, FUN as pathways into more fully understanding human experience and affect
Thank you for all who showed up for the last panel of the #aha26, and especially for the conversation and companion of the wonderful @emilycontois.bsky.social and @nataliapetrzela.bsky.social
Had a wonderful time seeing old friends and learning new things at #AHA26. A fitting farewell hat tip Chicago: eating cheese and caramel corn for lunch as my train leaves Union Station.
I always tell myself I'm going to post On Here throughout the annual meeting and then immediately get caught up and forget to look at the internet for four days. So, belatedly, thanks to everyone who came out to #AHA26! My fifth(!!) meeting as AHA staff and possibly my favorite one yet 🩵
