Bloody Knuckles and a Feral Fox TheInsaneFox Summary: The scene he finds is about what he expected in that it’s just viscera and blood scattered where there was once a soulless. But the man responsible for the gore stands in the middle, pink eyes glowing as he laughs like he’s having the time of his life. His red hair sticks to him and blends in where the blood is smeared across his face, fox ears pinned as he goes to town on his meal. Shit, he even has a cute tail that practically wags in excitement. And holy fuck he is beautiful. Or, the story of how Ais and Vere met and became more than just friends in this shitty world.

I expect all of five people to read this but I have finally finished this fic after working on it off and on for two years!!

Still healing wounds scatter the flesh that's visible. Vere has chosen to wear an elegent sweater, concealing his arms where he normally favors more translucent material. One eye is deeply bruised and his spirit looks as defeated as his body. "Vere—" Ais reaches out but drops his hand at the glare Vere throws his way. "Had a run in with a particulary nasty Soulless." Vere shrugs. "I've had worse." Ais remembers Kuras saying Vere had been at the clinic earlier and he's suddenly furious the doctor didn't mention how bad it was. But he can tell Vere won't tell him about it so instead he waves Leander over and nods towards Vere. A few seconds later, a glass of red wine is plopped down in front of the fox.

Vere glares at Leander. "Oh, now you have wine?" "Don't get your hopes up. It's cheap as shit." Leander shrugs and walks away. Vere takes a sip and his face immediately scrunches up in a scowl. "Wow, that's awful." He downs the entire glass in a few sips and yells at Leander to bring him another.

After being too depressed to write for over a month, I finally got a few hundred words down! I picked up my #touchstarvedgame WIP again for my pre-canon Ais/Vere fic when they first met and became FWB.

Frustrated and pissed off, Ais beats the shit out of some random guy in a back alley on his way home. He's shaking the blood of his knuckles when he hears the familiar sigh of the doctor. "Could you please not beat people to a bloody pulp behind my practice?" Kuras' voice oozes exhaustion as he stands in the back door of his clinic. "Sorry." Ais grunts, although both of them know he isn't the least bit remorseful. "Did you at least leave him alive for me to patch up?" Ais nudges the guy with the toe of his boot and after a few seconds says. "Doesn't look like it. Oops."
