Deryk has traveled to Sharlayan with Galka to meet her father, who instantly gives Deryk his blessing to be with his daughter, even though the two aren’t together at that point. This is what causes Galka to start looking at Deryk a bit differently.

Ais really likes piggy-backing on Thancred’s back, especially when her scars make her uncomfortable after a lot of walking. He’ll never admit it, but he really loves it too, because he likes spoiling her.

And, once I joined the Forum, it just kind of turned into an unnecessary hassle, especially when the Final Days were approaching. My father's illness certainly doesn't help matters. Or, maybe I just find it childish. Who's to say?"

I think Thancred’s damaged eye is more light sensitive than his healthy one, hence the covering. He only brags about scars looking cool to avoid letting on that it bothers him. Ais and Urianger are the only ones who know.

Thancred uses a glamour to conceal his damaged eye in ShB and EW. He lets it fade, along with his hair and facial hair growth, after he finds out Ais is seeing someone in the post EW patches. Koana is surprised when Thancred turns up in Tuliyollal looking like that.

Made the executive decision that, yes, Thancred *is* going back to his HW look for Dawntrail (maybe beyond) and that, yes, his left eye IS damaged. I may hc his color perception in that eye may be screwed up, thanks to his distorted aether connection.

Ais inherited Icarus’s innate magical prowess (both offensive and restorative), while Galina got Kalliope’s musical and artistic gifts. They also both have the same hair and eye colors as their Ancients.

Apeliotes was like an older brother to Icarus during ancient times because of his relationship with Kalliope, so Oschon absolutely takes on that role with Ais by helping her sort out both her complicated relationship with Themis and feelings for Thancred.

Ais and Themis are closer to soulmates than she and Thancred, surprisingly, but they very much have a “Starcrossed Lovers” situation. Also, had Athena not murdered her, Icarus may’ve very become an Ascian alongside Elidibus. Maybe an example of “Nice Job Breaking It, Villain.”

Themis is entirely the reason that Aiscred didn’t become a thing after EW because there was an opportunity, but she was going attatched to Themis and Thancred felt betrayed. But Nald’thal, Oschon, and later Themis himself urge her to find happiness with Thancred.
