An alligator snapping turtle resting on the sidewalk above a gated retention pond

My size 8 1/2 foot looks almost tiny while I rest it against the backside of an alligator snapper

That’s a beefy snapper … poor thing found its way outside of the gate and couldn’t find its way back; there was no way I was picking this big turtle up and putting him back over the fence
