random early morning #ampguts
for some reason I mostly have pix of these without the dummy load (see below) but here's what it looks like with a dummy load and a speaker output jack
Photo of inside the chassis of a fully wired Audity One recording amplifier by Curious Audio. The preamplifier and effects section is at the front left and includes an input jack, four potentiometers, four orange drop capacitors, three yellow capacitors, several resistors, and two of the four tube sockets. The power amplifier and output section uses one of the tube sockets, several resistors including larger power resistors, and much of the wiring and components in the bottom left and middle of the chassis. The power supply is toward the back of the image and includes the power inlet, power switch, fuse, pilot light, two large black capacitor cans that account for three capacitor sections, and one of the tube sockets.
almost forgot
the final #ampguts shot
Inside view of chassis for Audity One Recording Amplifier by Curious Audio. Capacitors are black, orange, and yellow. Resistors are blue and gray. There are knobs and potentiometers along the front panel that connect by wires to either the turret board or directly to the white tube sockets. Green lettering says A1-12 and also gives instructions to change the wiring to accommodate different international voltages.
ok #ampguts too
Interior of Audity One Recording Amplifier chassis that shows completed wiring of amp A1-3. Capacitors are mostly large black or orange parts. Small blue components are resistors. Pots and switches along the inside of the front panel are connected by wires to the turret board or directly to white ceramic tube sockets.
what, you want #ampguts?
well ok
here ya go!
orange cathode resistor wire from v2a to v1a (for tremolo circuit) is also not yet connected in this one
I post these under #ampguts for more circuitry enjoyment

view inside an amplifier chassis with the wiring almost completed. There are a combo jack, three potentiomers and a pilot light seen connected to the inside of the front panel. In front of them is a yellow terminal board with brass terminals, to which many other electrical components and wires are connected. To the right are two large black electrolytic capacitor cans, and in the foreground on the left side panel are jacks and switches. Just in the front of the image are the underside of an input transformer, a smaller terminal strip with yellow and black wires connected, and upside-down writing that identifies the serial number and moniker for this amplifier, A1-4, "the Green Fifteen". There are also instructions for changing the input voltage if used in different countries.
morning #AmpGuts
this is inside the Green Fifteen, numbered A1-4 but was the tenth built bc the customer was so difficult and took forever to decide what the specs should be (me)
it's been built for two years now but this was taken before the combo jack and dummy load were wired in

Inside view of Audiode overdrive pedal by Curious Audio. There is a large toroidal power transformer in the lower left corner and a smaller square blue power transformer bottom center, flanked on either side by filter capacitors. Also visible are various other capacitors, resistors, potentiometers, jacks, and switches.
Back view of Audiode overdrive pedal by Curious Audio. There is a vacuum tube between two small chrome handles on the top left and various white, black, and red knobs. On the back there is a power inlet, two jacks, and a serial number sticker with Audiode branding.
by the time they made it to production, the #ampguts and presentation for Audiode pedals had been sorted
btw this is the before/after of a cap job and I made the wonderful presentation choice of having the second picture flipped 90° compared to the first so it's totally confusing, please clap

Metal badge that says: "MODEL FAX-200 117 volts. AC. 60 cy 90 watts Manufactured in Japan by Roland Electronics"
Front view from top right angle of Martel FAX-200 integrated amplifier. Brushed aluminum faceplate has a row of knobs along the bottom and a plastic radio dial inset along above the knobs. Four black switches are set on either side of the radio dial in pairs.
Today in #ampguts, we're looking at a rare #vintage integrated vacuum tube amplifier. Branded 'Martel', it was made by none other than Roland Electronics. Uses 4 x 6BM8 tubes for phase inverters and output.
One of the output tubes was glowing red. Wonder why that's happening?
Audity One, original version (2008), by Curious Audio. Steel chassis painted green with white hand-stamped letters and white knobs. Plywood cabinet with Oxblood speaker cloth.
Audity One, current version (2025), by Curious Audio. Steel chassis with white UV printed graphics and black knobs. Black Cherry cabinet with black speaker cloth.
Audiode overdrive/distortion pedal, version 1, by Curious Audio. Cast aluminum box with dark green paint and white hand-stamped text. 'audiode' is stamped above the footswitch, with 'curious audio' below.
Audiode overdrive/distortion pedal, version 2, by Curious Audio. Cast aluminum box with dark green UV printed graphics and white text. The Curious Audio logo is in the top left corner, with 'curious audio' and 'vacuum tube electronics' below. at the bottom of the pedal it says 'audiode' in larger text.
Evolution, it's real, you can see it here

Inside of an Audity One tube amplifier chassis. Visible are a yellow turret board with brass turrets, potentiometers and switches, tube sockets and various color wires. The chassis is dull silver colored bare metal.

This is an early stage of Audity One tube amp wiring that shows the twisted pairs that distribute 6.3V from the power transformer to the pilot light (green wire) and tube heaters (black/white). Running these close to the chassis also helps eliminate hum.
Bottom view of an Audiode instrument overdrive pedal by Curious Audio. There is a clear plexiglass cover attached so the components can be seen. Aside from a healthy amount of green electrical tape, there is a blue power transformer near the center bottom of the pedal. Also visible are orange capacitors, black-wrapped silver can capacitors, audio jacks, a tube socket, and four different switches.

This is serial number AD-1 of the version two Audiode pedal, with a custom plexiglass bottom cover...
cool so you can see the components inside, but necessary because the enclosure for this one was too shallow and I needed a non-conductive material in case anything touched
Inside electronic wiring of Audity One Recording Amplifier by Curious Audio. The metal chassis is red and 'A1-7' can be seen written in blue ink. There are wires, orange, black and yellow capacitors, blue and grey resistors, potentiometers, and other electronic components.

this is an early (V1) Audiode Overdrive/Distortion pedal, first device I built with the now standard copper ground bar that's in all the hand-built tube stuff I make
Inside view of original 'Curious Audity' amplifier by Curious Audio. Inside the chassis, there are three large blue capacitors on the right, several smaller orange capacitors, and brown carbon film resistors throughout the electronic wiring and other components. At the top edge of the chassis are three potentiometers with white knobs. The inside of the chassis is grey.

Inside view of Audity One Recording Amplifier chassis wiring. There are many electronic components running from tube sockets to either a turret board or other components, such as jacks and potentiometers. There are several orange and yellow capacitors, blue resistors and one large white large resistor. Written in blue is the serial number A1-6 and instructions for wiring the power supply for different voltages.
