I needed steady, predictable. And my gut told me Ridley Bennett was anything but.' -- Colter Brooks As dangerous as it proves to be, I love Ridley's tenacity. I also love how Colt cannot keep himself from being by her side when she's in trouble. Their enemies with benefits arrangement is a form of foreplay in and of itself that has me rooting for them to get past all the static. As for the mystery, THAT is something else. The way it unravels and how the story is laid out left me slightly surprised. This is a situation where I found myself eliminating potential suspects early but not seeing the danger. It is well-written. This may be my first Catherine Cowles book, but it won't be my last. I hope she regularly has attention getting pets and ornery elderly folks to lift the mood. 😁🩵 I read along with the audio book. My ears have enjoyed narrators Sebastian York and Andi Arndt many times over the years, including today. I love all the sass Andi brought to Ridley that really matched her spirit. And if you've listened to Sebastian before, well, I'm not sure anything else needs to be said. 😉 🎧🤎🎧 Story: 4.5 stars Narration: 4 stars Listening Speed: 2.3x H = 36; h = 27
