When I started playing D&D, instead of giving me a list of races and classes, my DM told me "You can be whatever you want to be" and then he took that and created my character. When I told my mom about the game I said the same thing. And she said, "I wanna be a donut." Because she loved donuts. I didn't know what to do with that. Fast forward about 30 years and Low Life comes out. In this game you can play a sentient pastry (among other things). Unfortunately, after killing off her first D&D character in less than 30 minutes, my mother never played another RPG. So she never got to be a donut. Also shout out to Andy Hopp, who designed, wrote, illustrated and did the graphic design for the fabulous game. And thanks to my buddy Dayv Crane for running it for me and my wife one day long ago.
