Actually, #AnnelieseDodds resignation is not ‘pointless’ because it rejects the false correlation between aid and arms expenditure. The politics of forcing the world’s poorest to pay for allowing U.K. defence to slide are awful. Cackhanded own goal.

There's nothing else #AnnelieseDodds could have done. Huge mistake, Labour leadership. If you don't have capacity to make the case for why increasing the overseas aid budget is needed to make the best use of increased defence spending, well that's terrible.
#AnnelieseDodds has done the right thing: waiting until Starmer's meeting with Trump the Magnificent was over and then resigning. This cut was the easiest one to make. It will not be reversed but it will be forgotten.
What #AnnelieseDodds doesn’t seem to get is that We did too little in 2008, when Putin invaded Georgia, and when he first went into #Ukraine. Now he’s emboldened by #Trump and no Euro country will be in a position of free handouts like it or not. I’m glad she’s gone always winging about something!!
