There's better out there, from the obvious Ghost In The Shell to Dominion: Tank Police (Both, again, are more told by the adaptors than anything from the creator), but this isn't bad. You got some time and wanna see something old school, can't go wrong with #Appleseed.
But those aside, this is...fine. Like most Shirow adaptations, this is a little more the version in the hands of the adaptor than the creator (In this case, adapting several entries into one long story) and it's fine. #Appleseed
...those she brought over from the post world war 3 lands seem to be doing the living part just fine, and...again, it's kinda hard to do the "I WANT TO LIVE" thing like WALL-E when the land itself is an ever expanding, possibly, irradiated desert. #Appleseed
I get what this was trying to go for, it's the standard philosophical question of living...but we really don't see the other side of that, humans and biodroids are treated so equally, we only know ONE as a biodroid thanks to the file that was stolen... #Appleseed
Our heroes recover, and our leading lady thinks the bad cop might have a point...except we kinda don't really see the negatives of this place outside of his wife's death and his memory scan, so...? #Appleseed

Of course, the cyborg was waiting for this and uses the one thing that isn't linked to the city computer, the prototype weapon the cops saw earlier. Double whoops. #Appleseed
So, a combination of his wife's head dive and Olympus's NIMH doing a memory probe pushed the bad cop over the edge and wants the city to pay...and Hitomi stumbles her way into ending the world...literally. Whoops. #Appleseed
(Sees the bad cop run with Hitomi in her arms) He's at the 10, the 20, he cold go ALL! THE! WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY! #Appleseed
Bully hears Hitomi in the bad cop's truck and starts making a drive for it...

...only now it's gonna go faster with those speed holes....and that giant robot he modified for speed earlier. #Appleseed

In a flashback, we see the bad cop got interviewed by the cyberpunk version of NIMH...minus the caring...before they take him away for a glass of warm milk, a quick nap, and a total memory search. #Appleseed
So, to make sure Hitomi's code can't wreck the city, they're gonna destroy all but ONE terminal to access her code, so they're gonna get the guy by the tried and true method of...PROCESS OF ELEMINATION!
Sure, you did it in a public way AND still have that spy... #Appleseed
Because the cyborg escaped easily earlier, AND our heroes are outsiders that Hitomi brought in earlier, the boss says it's obviously true they might be kinda maybe not but still are spies and Hitomi can be offed and replaced at anytime, so... #Appleseed

Oh, and it turns out? Yeah, our heroes got arrested and stopped the bad cop from taking the girl...because the copo thinks THEY'RE the bad cops and were gonna take the girl, who has the override code to the city.

Top it all off, it turns out Hitomi is the girl that keeps bringing everybody over, and is herself a biodroid! And this is when...their own team show up, impede the rescue, and make things worse?

"DEEP SHIT!" The company just NOW saw the data on the woman the bad cop is after, Hitomi, was removed and now it's time to get our favorite duo in...who's being gassed at the moment...only they...SOMEHOW knew they were about to be gassed and masked up. #Appleseed
"Do you mind downing a few beers with me?" Ya know, for a cyberpunk future...this isn't that bad.
Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer NO cyberpunk future, but on the scale, this goes behind Ghost In The Shell (First movie) version as a GOOD dystopia to live in. #Appleseed
Turns out the bartender was tipping Bully about everything...but is only gonna tell him under the deal of "Cash up front."

Oh, and it turns out Deuan (Yeesh, and I thought remembering Gundam names was hard) and Bully live together and she's still steamed that women are coming to him.
