Our Buche de Noël cake, being gluten-free, tends to work better as a pavé than a rolled buttercream. Snails, leaves, hazelnut clusters, a shelf fungus, all in marzipan and an apricot sunflower, will grace our joined table tomorrow
And the Final, 24th Day of our #ArtAdventCslendar is this year's #BucheDeNoël with marzipan deco both foresty and fae, will grace the table tommor with friends — after a singalong showing of Wicked!

A lovely green butterfly on this cold cold winter day. Promises of things to come. 😊
Watercolor on Arches paper
A kumihimo disc, with antiqued silver threads, set up to braid a new sculptural variation on a trad kongoh gumi braid. Instead of opposing pairs, it's three-and-one "opposites" staggered around the circle. The braid grows down from the center.
Occassionally Baroque Kumihimo Braid, on a braiding disc, working threads in plastic bobbins. a new variation on a trad pattern - in this first braid part of the practice was to go into & out of the baroque 1-&-3 design that creates a curl in the braid. My next one may be all curlies, because wow!
#Day4 #ArtAdventCslendar Occassionally Baroque - a kumihimo pattern invented and taught by Makiko Tada at the September 2024 Gathering of the American #Kumihimo Society. A variation on the familiar kongoh gumi braid creates a cool sculptural effect in the braid.
Day 4. Titled “Beautiful Chaos”. This piece stands 8 feet in height. It was commissioned for a private residence. #ArtAdventCslendar
