"Now, which destinies would you like me to see for you..." (P2) "Perhaps a deeply bonded pair...? An entwined future...?" The Wayseer continues, while Byleth sits across the table, eyes fixated on the ball and her face leaning on her crossed hands. (P3) Byleth doesn't answer, tapping her index on hand as she thinks. (P4) The Wayseer continues to look at the crystal ball in silence. (P5) Byleth's tapping index intensifies, her gaze squinting. (P6) "No. Not them." The Wayseer answers Byleth's unspoken question. (P7) Byleth stands up, slamming hands on the table. "THAT'S BULLSHIT!!" The balloon takes over the background, with the Wayseer standing impassively in front of the "I".
(P8) "Lady, listen!" Byleth sits down again, recollecting events from past comics in which Sylvain and Ignatz ever interacted in the background. "These two are unusually close! Even in battles, they support each other quite often!" (P9) "Are you telling me this is not the work of Destiny!?" Byleth argues, but the Wayseer doesn't buy her argument. "You are the tactician. You set their positions. That is literally your work." (P10) Byleth squints at the retort. (P11) "Ahen, even so..." Byleth tries to continue, but she's interrupted. "It will not happen, Professor." (P12) "From all the futures I see, their destinies will never entwine." The Wayseer reveals the strings of fate in her crystal ball, depicting abstract images of Sylvain and Ignatz, their red and green strings never intertwining. "Once this war is over, they are destined to follow their own paths..." (P13) "Their futures might connect with other colleagues, though." A follow-up of the crystal ball's image, in which both Ignatz and Sylvain follow their lives with unidentified people, their red and green strings intertwining with others. "There are still many possibilities for their happiness without each other." (P14) "Isn't your job to entwine destinies?" Byleth sighs, resting her head on her hand, disappointed. "My job is to see destinies, and help direct my clients to the desired one." The Wayseer explains. (P15) "Not create one out of nothing." She adds.
(P16) "That is beyond my power." As the Wayseer concludes, Byleth realizes something. (P17) "Wait a minute..." Byleth speaks to herself, an idea clocking in her mind. (P19) Later that day, at the merchant booths. "Here, take this. This is a present for both of you." (P20) Byleth hands an elegant sheathed dagger to two of her students. "Huh? A dagger?" The first asks. "Thanks, professor... I guess?" Says the second. (P21) "Thank you, professor, it's a beautiful dagger..." Ignatz is the one who takes the dagger, contemplating it but still confused. Behind him, Sylvain also looks down at their gift.
behind his head while checking on the other. (P23, P24) Byleth rests her hands on both Sylvain and Ignatz's shoulders. (P25) "My students... I wish you both the best in the future you will cut a path through together." Byleth gives her blessings to the pair, mirroring the meaning of that gift with Dimitri's when he gave Edelgard a dagger in their childhood days. (P26) But neither Ignatz nor Sylvain catches the idea, befuddedly staring at their professor. "...Okay?" Sylvain limits to say. (P27) From the same angle of the previous panels, Ignatz and Sylvain chats about their present. "Um... Sylvain, do you mind if I keep it for a while? I would like to study its craft and..." Ignatz asks politely, but Sylvain doesn't mind his excuses at all. "Oh, sure! Daggers aren't really my thing." He answers with a content smile. Meanwhile, Byleth still has her hands over their shoulders, her back is turned to the camera but sparkles around her reveal her excitement. "Goddess... it's working!"
