For #asianreadathon theme: Read a book written by an Asian author that’s nonfiction and/or political.

I picked Minor Detail by Adania Shibli, trans Elizabeth Jaquette. Nominated for International Booker Prize in 2021, the book is searing and painful and left me speechless 1/

We're excited to pick up a book self-described as a chaotic sci-fi adventure which reads like a mash-up of Aladdin and Murderbot. 🙌

Just finished vol 1 of Our Not-So-Lonely Planet Travel Guide by Mone Sorai for #asianreadathon. Cute and fluffy, with angsty backstory undercurrents. Art-wise it's solid, but not really into how the faces are drawn. The main couple's dynamic was pretty great tho! Looking forward to the next volume.

I've been a reader for as long as I can remember. I used to have a book blog which, again I'm considering unburying from the dead. Anyway the main reason I decided to have a 'comeback' is mostly for withcindy's #asianreadathon
